The SF Bay Area, our home, has

  • 400 miles of coastline

  • 5 active ports

  • 58 colleges and technical schools

  • 101 municipalities and 9 counties

The SF Bay Area sustains more and more ocean businesses each year, part of the burgeoning Blue Economy. Government leaders, NGOs, and academic institutions are adjusting to the myriad of opportunities linked to this sector. Our Mission is to foster connection and cooperation to grow the Bay Area's Blue Economy.

How do we go about that?

· Through our BlueTech Workforce Development Accelerator we place students in skill-building environments, preparing them for challenging, well-paid careers.

· Through events which convene our community we broaden and deepen awareness of vital, topical issues.

Ultimately, our activities drive education, jobs, and economic development throughout the entire, distributed ecosystem of one of America's most vibrant coastal cities.

Welcome to The Hub!

“The sexiest word in the English language is implementation.

Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Biologist

“The Hub for Blue Green Innovation has a unique opportunity to serve as a catalyst for the growth of ocean-related companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Building on the region's heritage of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, The Hub serves as a critical entry-point for those interested in developing and supporting solutions for our oceans and our climate.”
